MONEY ME AND GOD - Four guiding principles of giving

Whenever discussions touch on God, church and money they trigger intense responses from people.

“The church just wants my money.”

Do I have enough to be generous?.

Don't they just spend however they want, I don't trust them.

Throughout human history money has consistently caused difficult challenges. Jesus shared stories about money frequently, 11 of His 40 parables either focused on money or employed it as an illustration. This problem isn’t exclusive to today because it concerns money, security and our inner values and trust.

During my time in leadership I have found money is often a delicate subject, money is often our place of security. Unfortunately our fears often get reflected in our lack of biblical perspective. We naturally end up worshipping whatever provides us protection.

Any discussion about money actually reveals deeper truths about our emotions and spiritual beliefs. In the upcoming blogs we'll work through this topic in different ways. Please feel free to share your questions with me.
